Using the Site

You get around the interesting parts of this site by scrolling through a database and clicking on what you like. CLICK ON THE HIGHLIGHTED PART THAT SAYS DATABASE IN THE SENTENCE BEFORE TO USE THE SITE AT ALL. Technically you can get around through backlinks to the folders where the data is stored (for now…), but the database is written in such a way that you have an idea of what you are accessing before you access it and is highly recommended as the primary means of which to navigate the site. I update this site a few times every week and it is always growing.

If you have been invited to publish to this site, here is what you need to know about that.

Here is a brief disclaimer about what I post.

Enjoy the resort and remember that you can come back any time you’d like.

What is Famous Resort?

This is a file repository and link database for pieces of media and websites that inspire me and I believe are… worth archiving in a repository. Sometimes it’s just some stuff I or some of my friends see. This website is created with Obsidian and hosted through quartz (5.0 as of the most recent update). The original use case for this site was simply to have something on my CV to demonstrate my proficiency with database organization and management using markdown. This website was created by Thomas Stone (or TL or ThoughtfulLover) in Milan, Italy during the summer of June 2026 for this purpose.

What do you link/post?

First, I really have to say - it is not my intention to host anything illegally and I want to provide proper credit to all photos, art, writing, and other media where it is due, so the majority if not all of the works here will be external links separating the media from this web page to make clear the fact that I am not the primary host of the media. I EXTREMELY do not want to do anything illegal - this world is increasingly infringing on what it really means to share things in good faith and what it really means to break the law so often, especially with copyright, and it is my intention to err on the side of caution regarding every link.

Some of the posts are in fact self-published as this site doubles not only as an external media repository but also a literary/video/artistic project database for TL and the other authorized uploader(s).

Why are you posting this stuff specifically?

I am inspired by websites like Strauh.al and NonAcademic that are essentially big repositories for sometimes meaningful or interesting online crap. Some of the stuff that is on this site have shaped the lives of the uploader, some of it is useful, a lot of it is just crap. It would just be nice to have a site that is fun to explore.

Who is posting all of this?

In the drinks menu you can sort by uploader and see which contributors posted what stuff.

I hope that you have fun exploring my page and I hope that you find something impactful. Maybe some of my close friends who were not raised by the internet like I sort of was will find some stuff that they never thought would be on here and will use it, especially some of the websites.
