Disclaimer regarding publishing
These guidelines are made public as a demonstration of how or what to do if you are a co-publisher regarding the treatment and classification of data that you are attempting to upload.
Much of this is not important to anybody who will not be publishing, and is only kept public for now because it is part of a demonstration for the CV. Once this has been demonstrated, this page will no longer be public, because half of it is unintelligible unless you have access to the main obsidian vault itself, which you can’t have unless you are my friend and I am sharing that access with you directly through docker or something else like that. If you are looking at this site as a potential employer or are on an advisory board for a competition, perhaps you would like to read my personal mission statement regarding database management.
Uploading Guidelines
After uploading a link or other piece of media, yaml data must be filled out in a specific order such that all of the headings used in the database have a relevant and corresponding value. This data must be put into the local folder in the original obsidian vault that holds all of the links, the resort bar.
Every single yaml metadata type is a list, not a string, because there is always more than one answer to any question or whatever bla bla bla:
All of this is subject to change little by little as discrepancies and tangential exceptions make themselves known over the course of collaboration.

Type: Strictly falls under one of the broad categories of the site, also correspondent to the folder that you put it in. Must be Music, Writing, Video, etc. Must be sorted into the proper folder within the resort bar. The ‘Else’ category that Mojito is in is basically any crap that does not fit any other classification, it is mostly but not limited to things like stupid memes that are images that don’t quite have the subjective substance of being writing and don’t quite have the sort of depth of being photography or art (that I mostly do not encourage posting on here at all and if you want to do so I highly suggest running it by me specifically, but a few of them on the site are fine).
Subtype: There is room for interpretation here but for the most part you get what this is - for example, if the type is “Writing” is the writing a blogpost? Is it a news article? Academic paper? Is it a screenshot of a bunch of chan text? Specify.
Author: Dig hard for this information and be specific. This can include the publisher but must include the artist if they are known. Collectives with multiple members can be referred to by the name of the collective rather than listing every individual member’s name.
Genre: Freestyle it, you can even be cheeky about what you but in this field because I know you want to be, but try to at least keep the real idea of whatever genre something is at least pertinent to the substance of the media and the emotions that it elicits broadly. Think of somebody scrolling randomly and seeing the tag and thinking “oh, alright look at this I like stuff like this, and I like other stuff on this site that has this tag” and then they click on it and they have a transcendental experience and it changes their life forever, because that’s what we’re here to do with our website that has a bunch of crap on it.
Provinence: Literally where the artist who made the piece of media or where it was recorded/produced/written, what country is it from? N/A is used for collaborative efforts where countries are not listed (like if the thing being shared is made by a team of anonymous international users for example).
Language: The language(s) primarily used throughout the media. Important to note that, if a book is read in English (or Italian, many of those who may contribute to the site use Italian and some pages may even be written in Italian, which may eventually warrant its own yaml metadata classification but not yet and not now) — the original language of writing should be provided as well as the language it is translated into. For example, if I read Pedro Paramo or something, but I obviously read it in English and I link to something involving the English language translation of the book, the languages listed would be English and Spanish. This applies to everything that isn’t writing also, like a film with subtitles, or anything that is translated from the original language to another language.
Uploader: The tag of the noted contributor who uploaded it. Sometimes even if I (TL) upload it, but the link was sent by a fellow contributor, I will put their name as the contributor, even though they will have access to the vault and be able to contribute themselves manually, just because it’s honest practice even if nobody really cares and it doesn’t matter at all.

Pina Colada - Music
Right now i’ll post a lot of individual songs and i’ll write them without the artist name in them simply because I want to get a higher volume of things in the database for the purposes of the whole CV thing but once that is all sorted i’ll probably take them all down and then just have a collection of links to artist bandcamp pages and official merch pages and embed youtube videos (that are uploaded with permission of the artist) of songs that I like the best on their pages. I encourage any collaborators to just start on doing that instead of posting whatever single song stuff I have been doing so far. Maybe i’ll even change it in the meantime and go back and fix whatever i’ve already uploaded but for now I need some volume.

Mojito - Else
As described previously the else category is the junk drawer of the site, and anything that isn’t really art or a video or writing or is so completely ambiguous that any argument for it to fit into a certain category is splitting hairs, it goes into this category. Don’t think about it too hard.
Long Island Iced Tea
This is tabular data that I have created for the sole purpose of having tabular data in the database because I want to show what it would look like in the database search function because a lot of the data that I would manage in the job that I want to get (using the CV that I am putting this website on) would be tabular. There is nothing for the clientside here and I really cannot emphasize how much you should not order this from the menu.
